Curated Publishing Co. is a curated directory of professional children’s book illustrators. Authors purchase membership access to browse vetted illustrator profiles and contact illustrators directly and independently.

1. Overview

Curated Publishing Co. is not an employer, talent agency, literary agency, publisher, project manager, payment processor, or intermediary in agreements between users.

All creative projects, negotiations, contracts, payments, timelines, revisions, and professional relationships are handled directly between authors and illustrators.

2. Eligibility

Users must be at least 18 years old to use the directory or purchase memberships.

By using the directory, you confirm that all information provided is accurate and truthful.

3. Membership Access

Author memberships provide access to the illustrator directory, portfolio previews, and contact information for illustrators.

Illustrator memberships provide listing visibility within the curated directory platform.

Membership access is personal and may not be shared, transferred, sublicensed, or resold.

4. Membership Billing & Renewals

Memberships renew automatically according to the billing cycle selected at checkout unless canceled prior to renewal.

Users may cancel subscriptions at any time to prevent future charges.

Access remains active through the end of the current billing period. 

Memberships automatically renew annually unless canceled prior to the renewal date. Renewal reminder emails are sent approximately 5 days before billing.

5. No Refund Policy

All purchases, subscriptions, listing fees, and membership payments are final and non-refundable.

This includes:

• Author memberships
• Illustrator listings
• Featured listing upgrades
• Promotional placements

Curated Publishing Co. does not provide refunds or prorated reimbursements for unused time, inactivity, dissatisfaction, or voluntary cancellation.

6. Illustrator Applications & Approval

Illustrator applications are reviewed manually.

Curated Publishing Co. reserves the right to approve, reject, suspend, or remove listings at its sole discretion.

Acceptance is not guaranteed.

7. Directory Listings

Illustrators are solely responsible for the accuracy of their portfolio content, contact information, pricing, availability, and professional representations.

Curated Publishing Co. does not guarantee project opportunities, client inquiries, contracts, or financial outcomes.

8. User Conduct

Users agree not to:

• Upload unlawful, infringing, defamatory, or offensive content
• Misrepresent professional experience or portfolio ownership
• Share member-only access credentials
• Attempt to scrape, copy, or reproduce directory data
• Use the platform for spam or solicitation unrelated to publishing

Curated Publishing Co. reserves the right to terminate accounts violating these terms.

9. Intellectual Property

All artwork, portfolio images, logos, text, and uploaded materials remain the property of their respective owners.

By submitting content to the directory, illustrators grant Curated Publishing Co. a non-exclusive license to display submitted materials for directory, promotional, marketing, and directory-related purposes.

10. Third-Party Relationships

Curated Publishing Co. is not responsible for agreements, disputes, payments, timelines, deliverables, revisions, communication issues, or business relationships formed between users.

Users engage with one another at their own discretion and risk.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The directory and services are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

Curated Publishing Co. does not guarantee uninterrupted access, directory availability, project success, financial results, or compatibility between users.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Curated Publishing Co., Purple Diamond Press, Inc., its owners, affiliates, contractors, and representatives shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from use of the platform or relationships formed through the directory.

13. Account Termination

Curated Publishing Co. reserves the right to suspend or terminate memberships, listings, or directory access at any time for violations of these Terms or conduct deemed harmful to the platform or community.

14. Modifications

Curated Publishing Co. may update these Terms of Service at any time without prior notice.

Continued use of the directory following updates constitutes acceptance of revised terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles.
